Keeping It Simple

Image
"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow." Author unknown. I like to be quite polished. It's not comfortable to be wanting for anything. However, it's a good feeling to simplify my life. The less I need to worry about, the better I will feel and the more time I can spend pampering myself and those I care for.  So, I decided against having nail gel applied. My own nails are fine as they are.  Why bother having a spray tan when your own skin is beautifully alabaster in color? Why color your hair when it is already a beautiful color? Just use your own attributes to their fullest and you'll have more time to relax. Fabulous tips for simplifying your glamorous lives: * have your unwanted body hair permanently removed by laser hair removal so you'll never need worry about it again. * Buy readily prepared meals for nights at home so you don't have to cook and you won't have to wash any dishes * Take cabs everywhere rather ...

Sherbert Birdies

Image
I'm looking forward to my full-day photoshoot with this fantastic company. Actually, I haven't booked in with them. Yet. I saw this being done in New York City a few years ago and haven't come by anything remotely like it since then. You can have a picture of yourself in true, beautiful "pin-up" style in practically any pose or scenario you'd like. I've always fancied sitting on the crescent moon, or kneeling on a giant packet of bubblegum. I am so delighted to have found a company who can capture a bombshell woman in pin-up style. All bombshells, go and get yourself pin-up'd!! This is their site... View it and love it! www.sherbertbirdie.com/portfolio Kitty x

Nothing Unimportant

Image
The Plaza is the only New York City hotel to be designated as National Historic Landmark. It opened it's doors in 1907 and was described as the greatest hotel in the world. It was so well known that Earnest Hemingway advised F. Scott Fitgerald to give his liver to Princeton and his heart to The Plaza. This landmark hotel is opposite Central Park, is frequented by royalty, politicians, celebrities and sportstars. You will find no less than 1,650 crystal chandeliers within this hotel and you can have your own butler for 24 hours of service a day. The Plaza's first film debut was in Alfred Hitchcock's 1959 "North By Northwest". Before then, movies were filmed entirely in Hollywood soundstages but very rarely on location. Since then, it has appeared in many films, including: Funny Girl, The Great Gatsby, The Way We Were, Cotton Club and Barefoot In The Park. This is the hotel in which the cartoon Eloise lives and weather you live in this hotel or just stay in this hot...

The Madonna Of Madrid

Image
I'm going to start this post by stating that I'll always be younger and taller than Penelope Cruz. Penelope Cruz Sanchez is the 'spanish enchantress'. She was born in Madrid, Spain and is the oldest of three children and remains a Spanish citizen. She's an actress who started out by training in Spain as a ballerina. As an actress she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2009. She has said, "The most difficult thing in the world is to start a career known only for your looks, and then they try to become a serious actress. No one will take you seriously once you are known as the pretty woman." Being cast as an 18-year old in Bigas Luna's 'Jamon Jamon' (1992), a film which required her to do nudity and sex scenes has, according to Penelope, psycho...

For Love Of Turbans

Image
Never underestimate the allure of a woman in a turban. I've always loved them, since I was in school. I told my best friend how much I loved them while we were trying on wigs at a store one day. She swore to me for years that she wouldn't be seen with me wearing one. She's since come around to the idea. They are so glamorous! You can find turbans in many different fabrics and colours and different styles too. You can pin brooches to them as well. There's so much you can do with them. Turbans aren't reserved for women fighting cancer or the ladies from Grey Gardens. All great Bombshells wear/wore them. They look so chic at all kinds of occasions. Best of all, you can always rely on a turban to help you through a bad hair day.

Sleepless

Image
It's high time to invest in a pair of earplugs, like the ones Holly Golightly has in Breakfast At Tiffanys. I have a dilemma. I'll explain. . . My relatively new neighbour had her relatively new lover stay over last night for many uninterrupted hours of unbridled passion in the bedroom. The issue is that her bedroom wall is also my bedroom wall. The other issue is the noise which kept me awake during extremely regular intervals between the hours of 12 midnight and 7 in the morning. We all know that Bombshells need a minimum of 8 hours sleep each night. Otherwise people must put up with cranky Bombshells or worse! How could I sleep? How could I complain? What could I do? Do I knock on the wall and embarrass them? Do I call the police and report their night of unbridled passion? Of course I couldn't do any of that. I did, however, play Burt Bacharach at 7am to block out the sounds of their extacy as I dressed for an over-tired day at work. I can't think properly. I'm ...

Glamour

Image
The supermodels of the 1990's were a little too skinny to be classed as buxom, curvaceous bombshells, but they were so devinely glamorous! Tall and leggy, graceful and beautiful. This was before the millenium made girls think they needed to be as thin as a chopstick to be beautiful.

The Bombshell vs The Diva

Image
Throughout my blog entries I've had many people ask me "what is the difference between a Bombshell and a Diva?" There's a HUGE difference. Below, I'm about to list only a few varieties of differences : The Bombshell has Natural sex appeal The Diva has Contrived sex appeal The Bombshell is Voluptuous The Diva is Often underweight The Bombshell has her own style The Diva Follows fashion The Bombshell often an actress The Diva is often a singer The Bombshell never uses coarse language The Diva often uses coarse language The Bombshell loves champagne The Diva sticks with spirits The Bombshell eats meals The Diva doesn't eat regularly The Bombshell is generous The Diva is more self-centered The Bombshell always dresses feminine The Diva sometimes dresses masculine The Bombshell has an essentially happy disposition The Diva has a perpetually moody disposition The Bombshell supports animal welfare The Diva supports human welfare The Bombshell has a psychologist The D...

Belle de Mars

Image
Camilla Belle is the bombshell for March. Miss March Camilla Belle Routh was born in California to a brazillian fashion designer mother. She's a former model, a working actress and a classical pianist with a boy-band member as a boyfriend (although they are rumored to have gone their separate ways recently.) Camilla is also fluent in the portugese language.

Katherine Heigl

Image
"I pride myself on being kind. But that's not to say that I don't have my moments of being a diva. Everybody has bad moments." Kathering Heigl Katherine Marie Heigl is about the same height as me. She was born in Washington DC but now lives in Los Angeles with her musician husband Josh Kelley and adopted Korean daughter Nancy Leigh Kelley. Katherine admits her worst habit is her smoking. She admits she has hips and a derriere but wouldn't consider exercising if she weren't in the entertainment industry. Katherine started her career as a child model but has always preferred acting. Her mother became her manager once she divorced Katherine's father and moved to California. Katherine was once signed to the famous William Morris Agency. Just like a true bombshell, her favourite hobbies are: Music, dancing, knitting, reading, writing, art, television and movies. Her ideal role is the part Joanne Woodward played as a woman with multiple personalit...

Champagne for flies

Image
I was sitting with a very dear friend at my favourite french bistrot when I realised that a tiny fly had drowned in my delicious champagne cocktail. Then I saw that not one, but two little flies had drowned in my friends cocktail. We realised these tiny flies were all around us. This soured our evening quite a bit as I didn't expect flies to be inside such a lovely cafe whilst I'm dining. I don't think I'll return there until winter is here and those pesky tiny flies have gone away.

Elizabeth's Krupp

Image
ART AT AUCTION The Year at Sotheby's and Parke-Barnett 1967-68: "A diamond ring by Harry Winston, New York $305,000. From the collection of the late Vera Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach. The highest price ever paid (at the time) at auction for a diamond ring." Elizabeth Taylor bought this diamond for herself. What a woman, treating herself to something beautiful! It weighs 33.19 carats (the stone) and she's worn it in every film she's appeared in since. This includes an episode of The Simpsons, in which her eye is reflected in the image of the diamond whilst she's polishing her Academy Awards. You see it, you love it and you can afford it, then you should buy it. You really are worth it! kitty x

Saint Valentine

Image
It's the day of lovers. Twenty-four hours of love, passion, lust, sex, heartbreak, lost love, loneliness, sensuality, desire, past loves, future love and heartbreak. Happy Valentines Day. We still love to believe in love! I don't believe life is meant to be perfect. For anyone. Nobody has a perfect life. Every being on Earth has wants, needs, tribulations, disappointments, heartbreak, loss, insecurities, neuroses and doubts. It's a great myth, I'd love to believe that life could be perfect. But love makes everything 'feel' perfect. For partners, I wish you much joy on this St Valentines Day. For singles, I wish you great love from within. I hope you spend a little time alone and congratulate yourselves on your own achievements. May it be your mind, your body or your soul. Cherish your loved ones including your animals. Let them know how much you care. Bombshells - live to love and love to be in love!!

Things Are Looking Up

Image
My little Jerry boy (my beautiful, adorable pet bird) will be going on a lovely little holiday at a friends' place whilst I jet off to the West Coast to visit family and friends in April. Holidays in my hometown bring to mind sleeping in, massages, good food, shopping, beaches, cafes, little islands off the coast, wineries, whales and bushwalks. I've also made a booking to cruise the South Pacific early next year on an exquisite new boat. I love to sail. I have to say that my favourite activities on board are the art auctions and the high tea. Again, I won't be taking my little bird on that either. Poor little home body!! It's good to travel. Escpecially when one is single! I love to explore. Bombshells are constantly travelling and delighting in exotic holidays. However we travel and wherever we go, we do it with style. So much to look forward to this year!! What a bon voyage!!!

Nothings

Tonight I'm watching an old film I've watched already a few times before. Not a wonderful film. But I love Monica Bellucci.

Single In The City

Image
Single in the city? Prince Charming hasn't called for you lately? My mother used to say, "Fat girls stay home on Saturday nights" and my grandmother said "Handsome men aren't going to come knocking on your door saying 'Is there a pretty girl in there?'." Don't dispair. It's time to get primped and primed and get out there! Time to leave your pussy on the couch, get up, get out and flaunt your stuff. Starting with toes. You no-doubt know my enthusiastic verdict on toes being pedicured and polished in red. Don't forget to moisturise those pins and show them off if they are worthy of it! Legs don't need to be tanned, just smooth, hair-free and even toned. Stockings are always a good thing! If you are feeling pudgy, start a new diet and try no to eat foods which have been too far from their natural state (or too long since they were growing). I look for foods with less than 4%fat, and limit my carbohydrates in the evenings. Give yo...

Blue Eyes

Image
Paul Leonard Newman was a bombshell kind of man. He stood 177cm tall, was an actor, director, entrepreneur, humanitarian and auto-racing enthusiast. He also served the United States Navy in World War II. His older brother was a producer and a production manager. Paul prefered New York to Hollywood and was hesitant to move there after studying drama at Yale University and with Lee Strasberg in the Actors' Studio. Paul Newman is one of my absolute favourite men so pardon me if I rave on a bit about him. In 1958 he married the lovely Joanne Woodward with whom he had 3 daughters. They lived away from Hollywood, prefering Westport, Connecticut. Paul often travelled to Hollywood for work, whilst Joanne rarely liked to be in Hollywood. He was devoted to his wife and family. When asked about infidelity, he said "Why go out for hamburger when you have steak at home?" He died of lung cancer, which isn't surprising as he was a former chain-smoker. He was...

A good italian girl...

Image
"Sex appeal is 50% what you've got and 50% what people think you've got." - Sophia Loren Sophia Villani Scicolone, aka Sophia Loren. She's Drew Barrymore's godmother. We share the same height and her birthday is one day before mine (though she was born MANY years before me). She grew up in the slums outside Naples and her father was never married to her mother (a Greta Garbo look-alike). He just decided to leave them... She and her sister were shuffled away to live with her grandparents, out of desperation and poverty. When she was 17 she married Carlo Ponti (he was 39), the director of her first 2 films. It was annulled to save Carlo from bigamy charges in Italy. She did remarry him later. Her sister married Romano Mussolini (Benito Mussolini's son). Sophia has done time on the inside. She served 18 days in prison for tax evasion. Throughout her career and until his death, Sophia was a close friend of Cary Grant. Many of her films she acted with Marcello...
