Valerie

Image
Valerie Perrine began her career as a young showgirl in Las Vegas. These days she is best known for her role as the original and fabulously misguided bombshell Miss Eve Teschmacher in the films Superman and Superman II, filmed in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Valerie also played the role of Samantha in the Village People movie. Years later, she was still as fabulous in her small role in the film What Women Want where she appeared as a showgirl 'aunt' to Mel Gibson. She has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress and a Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture Actress.

Kitten with the Violet Eyes

I've been flying around the world so many times and feel so guilty as I just haven't had time to sit and write about the passing one of the greatest Bombshells of the silver screen. Her nickname was Kitten, the first woman to earn 1 million dollars for acting in a film, with her own successful line of perfumes (before every minor starlet and her dog jumped on that bandwagon) and she had one of the most stunning jewelry collections in the world. If you haven't yet guessed who I'm writing about, think of an actress with vivid violet eyes, a woman who was married 8 times and an incredible supporter for the fight against AIDS, Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor. About being the first woman in history to earn a whopping million dollars (for the title role in Cleopatra), Elizabth said, "If someone's dumb enough to offer me a million dollars to make a picture, I'm certainly not dumb enough to turn it down." She was also quoted saying, "Success is a great de

It's a pearly ballpoint pen which comes in a myriad of colours, just perfect for pulling out of your little clutch when signing your name on those flimsy serviettes. The pen is filled with 160 sparkling crystals and it comes in a sweet little velvet pouch. It will only set you back £16 and I'll bet you'll fall so deeply in love with these beauties that you'll want to purchase one in each colour!

Woman of the Month. March - Anemone Barbie

Image
Ms Larue's inaugural Barbie of the Month is designed by the very much respected and talented highest quality footwear designer Christian Louboutin. Her name is 'Anemone' and she's the youngest of 3 lovely ladies designed by the artist. She comes as all good bombshells do, with (at least) 3 extra pairs of custom designed shoes.

Goodbye Jane Russell

Image
World War II pin-up beauty Jane Russell passed away today of respiratory failure. She was at her house in Santa Maria, California. Jane was best known as a voluptuous and controversial bombshell of 1940s and 1950s movies. She was the 'full-figured girl' in television bra ads and was just simply magnificent in comedies such as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Born Ernestine Jane Geraldine Russell on June 21, 1921, in Bemidji, Minnesota, she moved to Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley with her family. As she grew up, Jane wanted to design clothes and houses but she was working as a receptionist when she was conveniently spotted by a movie agent who submitted her photos to Howard Hughes. Although Howard was famous for dating other amazingly glamorous actresses, Jane and Howard's relationship was completely professional. So, Howard Hughes was the genius of a man who put her in her in the movies. He designed the 'cadillac' bra for her 38D bust abd then he or
